Our Pastor

The youngest of five children, Pastor Burt was born in Buffalo New York and raised on the east side of the city.

Pastor Reginald (Reggie) Burt graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University at Buffalo in 1987 and Master of Business Administration from the University at Buffalo in 2001.

Pastor Burt was called by God to minister under the leadership of Bishop Dwight E. Brown at the New Mount Ararat Temple of Prayer. Following his Ordination to Ministry in September 2000, Pastor Burt ministered and taught the word of God in various capacities at Mt. Ararat and most recently at The Chapel at Crosspoint under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, Jerry Gillis.

During his time at The Chapel at CrossPoint, Pastor Burt ministered on the Church Board of Overseers, Biblical Counseling team and taught Men’s Bible Study. In January 2023, Pastor Burt affirmatively received a call as Lead Pastor at the New Covenant United Church of Christ in Buffalo, New York.

Professionally, Pastor Burt has spent the last three years as a commercial banker at M&T Bank and prior to that spent 23 years as a commercial banker for HSBC Bank. Beyond his spiritual leadership, he has made substantial contributions to the finance industry, holding a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA from the University at Buffalo. His professional journey has taken him from the accounting department at Buffalo State College to the position of Senior Vice President at M&T Bank, showcasing his excellence and dedication.

Finally, and most importantly, Pastor Burt is a devoted husband to Martha for over 30 years and a proud father to their daughter, Kayla.

In 2022, Pastor Burt assumed the role of interim pastor at New Covenant, a position that became permanent in 2024.
